Our Philosophy

According to Dorland's Medical Dictionary, the definition of HEALTH is "a state of optimal physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease and infirmity." Our goal at Alamo Heights Chiropractic Health Center is to get people to that state as quickly as possible. Sometimes, using chiropractic healthcare can take a little longer to relieve pain because our aim and intention is to treat the cause of the pain rather than just eliminate your symptoms. The underlying cause in many cases is the vertebral subluxation complex and it will be the primary focus of our treatment. A subluxation is what occurs when spinal bones have lost their normal motion or position as a result of stress, trauma or other imbalances. Your body has an innate ability to restore its health, as long as the nervous system is functioning effectively. At times, the body becomes unable to adapt to life's stressful moments. As a result your body can become restricted in its motion and the spine becomes misaligned, which in turn can cause an irritation of a spinal nerve.

Chiropractic seeks to correct these misalignments, restoring this vital brain-body exchange and thus allowing the body to regain its optimal functioning and vitality. Proper spinal health is a new concept for many people, so we are here to answer any questions you may have.
